Weight Loss Program for Women in Sylacauga, AL

The Sylacauga Obstetrics & Gynecology weight loss program is not affiliated with any franchise. After extensive research, we created our proprietary program in 2014 to help women successfully manage their weight.

As part of our program, you’ll receive:

  • A complete nutritional assessment
  • Assistance with energy and appetite
  • Monthly full-body composition analysis
  • A metabolic laboratory profile
  • An exercise regimen built around your goals
  • Monthly and weekly check-ins and support at our clinic
  • And more!

This plan is a 12-month weight loss program. Our qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive team will provide you with check-ins and personalized guidance based on your progress throughout that time. Your First Weight Loss Clinic Visit

During your first visit, we will assess your nutrition, run a full panel of labs, and perform a body composition analysis using InBody technology. We perform body composition analyses every month and use your initial results to track your progress and show improvement.

Our doctors will discuss your current medications. If necessary, we will prescribe a lipo-enzymatic B-12 injection, additional energy boosters, and appetite suppressants. We recommend all patients receive weekly intramuscular shots to assist with energy and fat burning. However, we tailor all medication recommendations to your unique needs and goals.

Lastly, our doctors will discuss your current nutrition and activity levels. We will create a personalized diet plan, often low-carb, and exercise regimen that encourages weight loss and sustained energy.

Monthly and Weekly Check-Ins

At Sylacauga Obstetrics & Gynecology, we want you to succeed in your weight loss and weight management journey. We offer routine check-ins to keep you on track and motivated!

At our weekly check-ins, our team will assess your vitals, log your weight, and administer the intramuscular injection. You may find the first few months of our weight loss program challenging. Our weekly check-ins are a great way to speak to the Sylacauga Obstetrics & Gynecology team to get the emotional support you need to power through.

Our monthly check-ins occur in three-month intervals. At those times, we will review your progress and determine if any changes need to be made to your program.

Weight loss is unique to every woman, and at Sylacauga Obstetrics & Gynecology, we understand that. We can tailor any part of our weight loss program, at any time, to your specific needs. Our qualified staff can accurately measure your progress, determine the best next steps for you to take, and provide compassionate, proactive guidance for you along the way.

Weight Loss Clinic FAQs

Can anybody come to the Weight Loss Clinic?

The Weight Loss Clinic is offered to patients ages 18 to 65 years old.

When is the Weight Loss Clinic open?

We offer the following times for visits:

  • Tuesday 8:30am-12 noon — shots only
  • Wednesday 12-5:00pm — new patients, follow-up visits, shots
  • Friday 12-4:00pm — new patients, follow-up visits, shots

What medications do you use in your clinic?

Our main goal is to educate about proper nutrition to help you make a lifestyle change. We have some medical options to help you do this for a short time if you wish to use them. We recommend everybody get weekly intramuscular shots that are comprised of vitamin B12 and other lipoenzymes to help with energy and fat burning. We dispense phentermine (Adipex) as an appetite suppressant. We also prescribe metformin (Glucophage), Topamax, and Wellbutrin, in some instances. We will tailor the program to your personal needs and goals after taking a thorough medical history.

I have heard that weight loss medications are bad for your heart. So if I have heart problems or high blood pressure, can I still participate?

We do not recommend Adipex for someone with a history of heart attack or in cases of uncontrolled high blood pressure. However, there are other medications that we can use to help with appetite control, and you are still a candidate to get the intramuscular B12/lipo injections weekly. We check your blood pressure weekly to monitor this as well.

I have tried Weight Watchers, calorie counting, and other restrictive diets in the past and failed. How is this program any different?

We encourage a combination of a low carbohydrate diet with intermittent fasting/time-restricted eating, as well as adequate sleep, exercise, and management of stress. Multiple studies have proven that low-calorie diets are ineffective in the long-term. Making a lifestyle change that cuts back on carbohydrates, starches, and sugars has been shown to be effective for long-term weight loss. It also has been shown to help reduce, or even prevent, many other health problems.

How long can I participate in the weight loss program?

We will tailor the program to fit your individual needs. Adipex has been approved by the FDA for short term use, ideally 12 weeks.

I can’t come weekly to get the shots. Can I take them home with me?

Unfortunately, this is not safe and is a liability. We also want to monitor your blood pressure weekly, especially if you are taking Adipex, so we cannot allow patients to buy the shots and self-administer at home at this time.
